As a world renowned Gay Mecca, the history of Fire Island Pines is an important part of the history of LGBTQ+ life in America.

Preserving and sharing that history matters.  Not just to celebrate the past, but to be a guide and inspiration for future generations.

Unfortunately, with each passing year, important stories are lost. The Pines Historical Society wants to move faster in capturing our history and sharing them in an engaging manner. 

Our Membership Program is an invitation to become a partner in this work.

Your annual support enables PHS to research important stories, preserve historical materials, conduct interviews and create programs such as Finding Fire Island, Pines Profiles, our House and Walking Tours, and new initiatives including Finding Fire Island LIVE! and Share Your Stories.

The membership program is tiered so you can contribute in a way that makes most sense for you.  All members will be invited to our annual community gathering where you can meet with the PHS team. Our Platinum and Gold members will be invited to our twice yearly PHS Leadership Roundtable, providing an opportunity to engage directly with PHS leadership in a more intimate setting to share knowledge and perspectives, and help us identify important opportunities and gaps in the historical record.
