Dorothy Levy Pines resident 1938

Long time Pines resident and Real Estate salesperson Dorothy Levy was the other half of the weekly column in the F.I. News with John Whyte. Dorothy was a seashore resident early on in Cherry Grove in 1938. Leaving and returning in 1961 to the newly built co-ops. Herself, husband Joseph, a Conneticut dentist, and children Laura and Jimmy were part of the growing community. Dorothy started as part of the Taussig agency eventually going independant. Her job gave her an insight into the coming’s and going’s lending itself to the column. Moving oceanfront, her home was the first with a pool. In the column it was either Dear John or Dear Dorothy detailing the weeks events and gossip. They were even spoofed in the original Pines production “Pines Needles”. She was a champion of the community not to be forgotten.
